Local blog roundup
Heraldo compares Greensweep with Southern Sweep. Complete with links.
Meanwhile, Redheaded Blackbelt reports on Humboldt Grow, a new Humboldt-based magazine on - you guessed it. And they have a blog.
Ed reports on the best burger ever.
Ernie reflects on movies and parking meters in the Garberville of decades past.
Ecoshift hasn't posted in a couple of weeks, but his/her last posting covered the greening of this year's Democratic Party Convention in Denver.
The Eureka Standard reports on a certain Rio Dell resident who is being oppressed by Mexicans.
And StudioTwoten reports on a smoking ban at the Eureka Boardwalk.
Thanks to a heads-up from Fred who reports that Ukiah Daily Journal editor KC Meadows is on the train bandwagon.
Rose reports on a rash of Wi-fi allergies.
Ramblin Jack has some great photos of his Kneeland Airport bike ride.
Sometimes, the blogs are even more interesting when the news is slow.

The best two burgers I've had are (were) at Dave's Giant Burgers in Fairfield and Hot & Hunky in SF. Unfortunately, the latter went out of business.
Hansen's truckstop ? Me thinks your tastebuds took a vacation.
As to the comparison of Greensweep the more recent "Southern Sweep" there really is no comparison.
The one was the Bureau of Land Management, the National Guard, with a few active duty military going into mostly BLM land. They were there not only to take out the marijuana (on public lands) but to take out the plastic waterlines, water tanks, and other garbage left behind from about two decades of people growing pot on public land. Of course the lowlife pot growers growing (and crapping) on public lands made up stories about the invading army pointing guns at nursing babies and scaring Bambi.

Just to warn you'all, I've been attacked in a comment on my blog as being a burger "elitist" eating "upper-class" burgers. So, you've been warned. It's not too late to start posting McDonald's praises.
I've always believed the blogs are more interesting when the news is slow. I prefer to think of the blogs as a Humboldt version of Reader's Digest. I'll continue to write the funny stories between the heady stuff. Sort of like the back pages of Grit Newspaper. Now, if I can just come up with a local Goofus & Gallant.
Hi Eric and all,
I just wanted to let everyone know that Green Wheels has put our blog on our main page and we're posting a few times a week now.
http://www.green-wheels.org/
Recently, we've posted on the Grand Jury report, architecture for lots with multiple homes, ski trips by bike, and oil prices.
There's RSS feeds, too, so you can stay up to date. Stop by and post a comment.
Oh, and we welcome guest posts, too.
