Hospice BBQ this Saturday

Come on down to the 4th annual Barnyard Brew and Barbeque, Saturday, July 5, at the Community Park on Sprowel Creek Road outside Garberville. Benefiting Heart of the Redwoods Community Hospice, the barbeque opens at 4 p.m. with toe-tapping country music and microbrew tasting from 4-5 p.m. The Flaming Chefs are ready to swing their spatulas, with dinner starting at 5 p.m.: barbecued tri-tips or marinated tofu fillets with hot dogs for the kids, accompanied by corn-on-the-cob and organic green salad, and topped by chilled watermelon and chocolate chip cookies.

Relax to the music of Way Out West and Rooster McClintock. Bring the whole family for an afternoon of fun that lasts into the twilight. Enjoy hayrides and a silent auction, including vacation getaways. Adults $25, kids $12, with kids under 5 free. Don’t miss it; the Barnyard Brew and Barbecue only comes once a year!

toe tapping?

It's my favorite community party.

And a good time was had by all.

Certainly by me! My daughter enjoyed the hay ride. And the chocolate chip cookie.
