Tree sitters and buckets of feces
Just read the Eureka Reporter editorial. They say that the tree sitters at UC are dropping fecal matter and urine onto people passing by? Is that true?
Seriously. That's anti-social behavior.
Back in my civil disobedience days one of my affinity group members' name was Cricket. I wonder if he's the same "Cricket." Probably not.

I have always wondered how an event like the one in Tiananmen Square could happen over here. Sounds like the writer of this letter has the answer.

This is a common tactic used by tress sitters. Julia Butterfly's helpers were grossed out by the mess she made on "Luna."
not sure that is exactly what happened though. The newsstory may have twisted the actual facts just a little bit.
There is a video here - looks like an uncoordinated attempt of the protesters to throw each other the pee bottle and the bottle broke.

I don't know if it's related, but this AP story -- http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/06/28/tree.sitters.ap/ -- ended with a curious note:
"Campus officials ended up giving up the water without concessions; protesters declined to yield their urine."
They were keeping it for . . . ?

How much is true about the burial grounds and the trees being planted there as a result of previous protests i'd like to know.
Lol maybe if they couldn't spell it either ... *blink* that would explain why they never actually hit anyone!
As we know, editorial opinion pieces are always factual.
But never mind the brutality the tree-sitters face when attacked by tree-trimmers turned university thugs.

Note that it was a "Guest editorial from the Sacramento Union."
Hannaford must be sweating over his next installment of the sanctity of drilling in ANWR.

We need to keep in mind that proponents of ANWAR drilling are only suggesting drilling on something like 1% of 100% (or something like that)of the ANWAR.
ANWAR is not a pristine wilderness. There's an eskimo village just 3 miles from the supposed drilling site. I understand they're nearly all in favor of the drilling.
There's also military bases in ANWAR, along with the eskimo villages and their 4x4 rec vehicles.
Alaska and oil have gotten along quite well. Each and every Alaska resident gets a check from the oil companies every year for $2000.
We also need to remember the hysteria about the oil pipeline up there. Enviros said the pipeline would decimate the migration patterns of the caribou herds. I understand the caribou herds have quadrupled since then.
I don't think Hannaford has anything to worry about regarding oil drilling in Alaska, despite it not being politically correct.

Gull Island in Alaska is the largest oil reserve ever proved. The oil companies in "enviro" masks don't want us to have a free supply of energy and opt for slavery of the American People. Oil is abiotic
When there's something strange in your neighborhood tree who ya gonna call - the tree sitter gitter extraordinaire - Eric Schatz.
